Training and Mentorship

At DataFarming, we believe that collaboration is the key to success and progression in the agriculture industry – an industry we’ve been active members of for over two decades as precision ag and agronomy service providers in Queensland and around Australia.

A key part of this collaboration is sharing insights and professional development opportunities throughout the ag community – from the paddock next door to farms across the globe. We achieve this in a number of different ways.

Presentations and mentorship opportunities

DataFarming Managing Director Tim Neale is an industry veteran who is sought-after as a mentor, consultant and speaker at agtech events. Tim’s no nonsense, common-sense approach has seen him present at more than 50 national and international conferences on precision agriculture, agtech, spatial data and sustainable farming.

These include the World Congress of Conservation Agriculture in 2014, and the first conference on precision agriculture in South Africa in 2013. More recently, in 2019, Tim presented to investors and industry leaders in the United States as part of the 2019 global TERRA Innovation Accelerator program by Rabobank – of which DataFarming was one of 13 leading ag companies chosen to participate.

PRECISION AG TRAINING

Our aim to break down the barriers to precision agriculture adoption is behind our drive to deliver unbiassed on-site training for agronomy teams or individuals. Areas we can cover include:

• Soil sampling and soil mapping
• Satellite imagery interpretation
• Yield mapping and calibration
• Variable rate prescriptions
• Water surface drainage.
• Sustainable farming.
